Custom prescription glasses online need 4 important pieces of information, Sphere (SPH); Cylinder (CYL), Axis, and Pupillary Distance (PD).
Sphere（SPH ) stands for This indicates the amount of lens power, prescribed to correct nearsightedness or farsightedness. If the number appearing under this heading has a minus sign (–), you are nearsighted; if the number has a plus sign (+) or is not preceded by a plus sign or a minus sign, you are farsighted.
Cylinder (CYL) – This indicates the amount of lens power for astigmatism. If nothing appears in this column, either you have no astigmatism, The number in the cylinder column may be preceded by a minus sign (for the correction of nearsighted astigmatism) or a plus sign (for farsighted astigmatism).
Axis – The numbers under this column refer to angle degrees (1 to 180) and not diopters.If an eyeglass prescription includes cylinder power, it also must include an axis value, which follows the CYL power. this only applies to astigmatism prescriptions.
PD, or pupillary distance, refers to the distance in millimeters between the center of one pupil to the center of the other. Having a correct PD on your glasses prescription ensures that you’re looking through the ideal spot in your lenses, so it’s important to know what is PD.
